Tiny Grace Notes (Ask an Autistic)

Hi, I'm Ibby. Like Dear Abby with an Eye. Sometimes I answer questions, and sometimes I question answers.

Autism Speaks: These Mothers Want To Say

A mother who has worked with Autism Speaks and considered some of them her friends felt betrayed and sickened by the way they talk about her daughter. They ignored her. She declined to go to the summit. Please read what she has to say, here.

This other thing happened to her friend, one of her readers.

And here is my friend Kerima.

As for me, I think I have said enough for now. I'm hoarse.

Love,
Ib

Welcome!

The idea of Ask-An-Autistic came up in a good friend's blog. I'm an Autistic member of the disability community and an education professor who's also had non-profit service-sector jobs in the field: epistemological hat trick. :) Click on your choice of the links above to write a me private note asking whatever you like, and your topic may be next! Pass it on!

Here I am holding the Tiny Grace Notes for whom the TGN (Ask an Autistic) educational blog is named :).

Letters To Autistic Kids is a bully-free zone. Are you an Autistic kid or did you used to be? Do you love one? Check it out.

NeuroQueer, which came along when we needed a place to put edgier, intersectional things, has been on hold for a while, but will soon resume taking submissions. Stay tuned!

We Are Like Your Child, brainchild of the longtime activist Kassiane A. Sibley (Neurodivergent K), is a collective of many disabled bloggers reaching out together to tell some more difficult aspects of the truth, and how we carry on with our lives.

The book Typed Words, Loud Voices, edited by Amy Sequenzia and me and written by many excellent writers, is out!
